What kind of movie do I want to make? Well I want to try and make a drama comedy. Well I want to in an oldies style and like "vintage". Not too old but like 80's, 90's, or even 2000's. For the clothing it would be nice if they dress like how they did in the 2000's or 90's. I looked at the opening scene of power I think I would like to incorporate it somewhere in the opening scene but I'm not fully sure yet. What they did in the show Power is that they where showing objects and people and they mirrored it on the other side of the screen. The music they played was very catchy so it made you more interested in watching the show. The opening scene to On My Block left you with a sort of Clift hanger where their life is like an adventure and you want to see what happens next in their life. Where it started off at a party at night where you think their going to be in it then it shows them watching the party from the outside and then the opening scene ends with them calling gun shots. The show On my block had no specific location they were in 4 main locations which where School, and each others house. For my film I intend on aiming it for teens. I want my audience to be teens so they have something they can relate to and find some what comforting and funny. When teens want to find movies they go for something funny and and has some type of drama in it. I will get them to see my movie by having stuff that happens to them sometimes and they can have a connection with a character. Titles in my genre are big and bold and have color in them. Information that should be included in the title is something extremely short and breif about the whole movie. Many different ways characters are stereotyped in my genre is if they're they in a gang, what's their race, how tall are they.
Creative Critical Reflection
I became a better filmmaker through the process of trial and error and learning how to use a camera better. When I first started filming, my acting and recording weren't the best. I'm still not the best there is still a lot more room for improvement but I am much better than I was when I started. learning all the shots and the meaning also did help a lot because it taught me how to convey meaning through angles. I learned that it's a long process and it's not easy. in the beginning, it was all about thinking of what type of film you want to make. Thinking of what genre you want to make your film in. Then towards the middle, you're trying to think of a name for your film and you're also writing the script for the film then. In the end, you are taking all the work you did and putting it into action. then turning it into a film I will leave the class knowing a lot more knowledge than I did coming in from the classroom. I will leave this class ...
